Nicholas Reder, MD, MPH
CEO, Founder & Co-Inventor
Nicholas Reder is a board-certified pathologist and the CEO, founder, and co-inventor of Alpenglow Biosciences. He earned a BS in biochemistry from the University of Michigan, an MPH in epidemiology from Emory University, and an MD from Loyola University Chicago before completing an anatomic pathology residency and genitourinary pathology fellowship at the University of Washington.
He received the Castleman Award, has published more than 30 peer-reviewed articles, and is an inventor on 12 issued and pending patents. He has also served on College of American Pathologists committees, including the Artificial Intelligence Committee.
Vijay Raghavan
Chief Financial Officer
Vijay Raghavan is a finance executive with more than 30 years of experience across corporate strategy, fundraising, operations, and business development for venture-backed life sciences and technology companies. At Alpenglow Biosciences, he leads financial strategy, capital planning, investor relations, and corporate operations to support the continued growth and commercialization of its 3D spatial biology platform.
Sarah Malik, PhD
Chief of Staff
Sarah Malik joined Alpenglow Biosciences in August 2024 as Chief of Staff. She holds a PhD in pharmacology from the University of Washington and brings experience across research training, intellectual property, venture development, and life science entrepreneurship.
Steve Pemberton
SVP Commercial Development
Steve Pemberton is a commercial executive with extensive international and domestic experience across life science tools, diagnostics, and pharmaceutical services. He leads commercial development at Alpenglow Biosciences, supporting strategic partnerships and market growth.
Caleb Stoltzfus, PhD
Director of Bioinformatics
Caleb Stoltzfus is a physicist with expertise in optics, machine learning, and image analysis. His PhD research focused on nonlinear optical imaging techniques.
In 2018, he received the Washington Research Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship to apply his interdisciplinary expertise to biomedical research at the University of Washington School of Medicine.
He joined Alpenglow Biosciences in 2021 to advance spatial biology for academic and industry partners.
Alexandra Alvarsson, PhD
Director of Biology
Alexandra Alvarsson has more than 15 years of academic research experience and holds an MSc in Biomedicine and a PhD in Medical Science from Karolinska Institutet.
Following her PhD, she conducted medical research at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and developed expertise in 3D microscopy.
At Alpenglow Biosciences, she leads the wet lab team across customer research programs and internal R&D.
Andrew Hill, PhD
Director of Engineering and Field Service
Andrew Hill is an optical scientist and engineer with expertise in nonlinear microscopy, materials science, and biological imaging.
He earned his PhD in Materials Science from Montana State University, where he designed and built custom nonlinear microscopes and advanced optical instruments.
Following a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Washington, he held industry roles at ZEISS and NKT Photonics before joining Alpenglow Biosciences.
